Leasing A Rolls Royce EV

Luxury and power in a supremely quiet cabin have always been the hallmark of the BMW-own luxury car manufacturer, Rolls Royce. And the automaker’s adoption of an all-electric powertrain promises even more refinement.

The Rolls Royce brand isn’t entirely a newbie when it comes to electric technology in cars. As early as 1900, the company’s co-founder, Charles Rolls, spoke on what he perceived could be the future of luxury vehicles when he test drove an electric car. In his words, “The electric car is perfectly noiseless and clean. There is no smell or vibration, and they should become very useful when fixed charging stations can be arranged, but for now, I do not anticipate that they will be very serviceable – at least for many years to come.”

The brand also unveiled a pure-electric concept car during the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, an electric Phantom which it called the 102EX. Five years later, the British luxury automaker revealed yet another all-electric concept car called 103EX. This vehicle created so much buzz owing to its jaw-dropping design and insane features. We believe the 103EX depicts what the future holds for the brand’s future ultra-luxurious electric offerings. Finally, after years of teasing, Royce Rolls is set to release its first all-electric vehicle, and we can guarantee that this is not another concept car.

The Rolls Royce Spectre

“I am proud to announce that Rolls-Royce is to begin the on-road testing program for an extraordinary new product that will elevate the global all-electric car revolution and create the first – and finest – super-luxury product of its type.” Torsten Müller-Ötvös, chief executive officer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Reading the above statement, you’d agree that there’s so much excitement in the words of the company’s CEO, as this is a massive step towards achieving the company’s goal of putting an end to the production of internal combustion engine (ICE) cars by 2030.

When asked about the car’s name,  Müller-Ötvö added, “Spectre is a name given to otherworldly beings synonymous with great power and apparition; creatures of an alternative realm that make their presence felt through fleeting manifestation. A spectre forces the world to pause. It dominates the space it occupies. Then, as quickly as it appears, it dissipates, leaving a wake of exhilaration, energy, and intrigue.” By this, you can easily conclude that the Spectre will take luxury to a whole new level, as the brand looks to dominate the luxury EV segment just as it has done with its exhilarating petrol-powered models. For now, all we know about the Spectre is that it is a luxury coupe that will share similar underpinnings with the Rolls Royce Phantom and Cullinan. We also expect an all-wheel-drive system of electric motors that will produce enormous power to help maintain the brand’s immense performance reputation. The Spectre will arrive late in 2023 as a 2024 model.
