Full Mercedes A-Class 2020 A220 In-Depth Review

Fresh out the Mercedes latest installments is the 2020 Mercedes A-Class A220 sedan. Like all previous years of Mercedes automobiles, there is no doubt that the A220 is set to be significant competition in the world of mid-range vehicles and this makes leasing Mercedes A-Class 2020 A220 worth every penny. Below is a critical review of the new Mercedes A220;

Interior And Exterior Designs

The interior design is very similar to that of other Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Double information screens extend from the driver’s side to the center console with LED accent vents below. The panoramic roof allows lots of natural light to bathe the cabin during the day with an ambient lighting system doing the same at night. Most of the interior materials are of good quality.

The exterior shape of the A220 sedan does not resemble that of its big brother, the C300 sedan. From the side profile, in particular, it looks like an 80% copy of the class C sedan. The front fairing recalls the new CLS sedan, like the rear lights, but a little more rounded than those of the CLS.

Performance And Engine

The A220 4Matic has essentially the same engine as the A250 hatch but with a little less power. The 2.0L inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine of this A220 produces 188 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. Maximum power is reached at 5,800 rpm, but maximum torque is available at 1,600 rpm. While the A220 doesn’t feel as lively as the A250 (0-100 km / h is a full second slower at 7.2, according to Mercedes-Benz), it’s just enough power and torque for the most daily trips by the driver to work or school. This 4-cylinder engine also makes a terrific rumble at higher revs.

With a slight reduction in power, the A220 sees an increase in energy efficiency. City fuel economy is down 0.3 L / 100 km on the A250 to 9.6 L / 100 km (24.5 mpg), and the highway is 7.1 L / 100 km (33.1 mpg).

Technology

One of the most notable changes to the A220 2020 is the new infotainment system. Dubbed the MBUX, it has brilliant new graphics and a more organized menu system. It can be operated with the touchscreen, the touchpad on the center of the console, or through the Blackberry-style touchpads located on the steering wheel. Compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is available with the Premium package, but I found that Android Auto does not fully use the beautiful 10.25-inch screen.

In addition to these new features, the Mercedes-Benz A220 can be equipped with a multitude of safety and comfort features such as blind-spot sensors, LED headlights, active parking aid, 360 camera, a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, wireless charging and soon. So, on the gadget front, it can certainly be offered as a more expensive Mercedes-Benz.
