The Capable Dodge Cars

Some American auto brands represent American taste and style so well, and Dodge is one of them. Dodge is an American auto brand division of Stellantis, headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan. However, this all-American muscle car brand didn’t start as a division of Stellantis. For most of its existence, Dodge performance cars were marketed as Chrysler’s mid-price brand, just above the Plymouth.

Dodge started from the Dodge Brothers Company, founded in 1900 by Horace and John Dodge. The Detriot-based machine company was more into producing chassis components and other automotive parts that it supplied to auto companies, including the Ford Motor Company. Following their success in providing auto parts to the burgeoning Detroit automobile industry, the Dodge brothers saw an opportunity in the increasing demand for automobiles. They seized the opportunity to start making their cars in 1913.

The Dodge Model 30, the auto brand’s first car, was quite a sensation, setting the Dodge brand on the right path in the auto industry. The quality and reliability of other succeeding Dodge models soon won the Dodge many admirers. And by 1916, the Dodge cars were the second-largest selling auto in the US, a little behind the Ford.

Unfortunately, the death of the Dodge brothers in 1920 resulted in the company being sold by their families to Dillon, Reed & Co. in 1925. Three years later, in 1928, the company was sold to Chrysler.

And though the Dodge lineup may seem to have lost the touch that made them one of the best-selling brands, it still offers stand-out options in different auto segments. Every Dodge model boldly epitomizes the American values of gusty power, bold styling, and technology. Dodge cars will always be the best lease option for any shopper that greatly appreciates insane power and thrilling performance.
