Both engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. And quite unlike the CT4, the rear-wheel-drive is standard here, while all-wheel drive is optional. Though the 2021 CT5 delivers a plush ride, you don’t have to expect the same engaging driving experience as the CT4. This caddy lacks refined driving dynamics that has been the selling point of most Cadillac cars. It still makes up for this flaw in other interesting areas.
Fuel Economy
With its standard engine and wheel drive, the 2021 CT5 gets an EPA estimated rating of 23 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. This ranks average in the luxury midsize sedan class. This figure, with the all-wheel drive, drops to 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Its 335-hp V6 gets 19 mpg city and 28 highway, while with the 360-hp V6, it drops to 18 mpg city and up to 27 mpg highway.
Interior
CT5 sports a simple interior with a straight-forward design and an excellent infotainment system. Unfortunately, this luxury sedan’s interior is a far cry from what you’d expect from a luxury car. But what the CT5 lacks in build quality and materials, it makes up for it by offering one of the best tech amenities. Its infotainment system is user friendly and the latest version of the CUE infotainment system. Its interior space is admirable. The new CT5’s front seats are comfy, while the rear seats offer decent head and legroom space. Its 11.9 cubic feet of trunk space is OK for its class.
