The Subaru Legacy

Talk about cars best-kept secret; you have the Subaru. Understanding where it got its name from and looking at the badge will quickly explain why this Japanese auto brand is a rare gem in the auto market. The Subaru name got its root from the Japanese mythology of the star cluster of Pleiades. The same cluster of stars appears on the badge. Subaru cars are known as the king of all-wheel drive as all its vehicles are exclusively all-wheel drive.

The Subaru brand is an auto line owned by the Japanese conglomerate, the Subaru Corporation, formerly known as Fuji Heavy Industries, or FHI for short. The foundation of the FHI began with an Aircraft Research Laboratory in 1917. Fifteen years later, precisely in 1932, the lab led by Chikuhei Nakajima was restructured as Nakajima Aircraft Company Limited. And as WWII was around the corner, the company was charged with producing military equipment, including aircraft, to help the Japanese army. After the war, the company was restructured again and named Fuji Sangyo Co. Ltd. The company later went ahead to produce Fuji Rabbit scooter from spare aircraft machinery.

Years later, the company was split into many companies. However, four of these smaller firms merged to form the Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI), with Kenji Kita as the CEO. With the auto industry booming at that time, the emphasis on delving into the automobile industry was much. Hence, the company formed an auto-producing division under the name Subaru. The first car from Subaru was the Subaru 1500. Since after producing its first, Subaru has gone ahead to create desirable cars with unique designs to set them apart from other options in the market.

Subaru is that unique car that offers an epitome of the driving experience, reliability, and exciting comfort. There are many reasons why the Subaru should top your list if you’re looking to lease a near-luxury car.
