What Does The 2023 Nissan Maxima Have To Offer?

The 2023 Nissan Maxima’s appearance still draws attention despite not receiving a redesign since the 2016 model year because of its floating roofline and swoopy shape.

The Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger feel faster than the Maxima, but the VW Arteon is more polished. All Maximas come with a 300 horsepower V-6 engine, but it’s paired with a clunky continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

Most Nissan vehicles are all roomy. Hence, if you’re seeking for a less expensive vehicle, the Nissan Infiniti or Nissan Maxima are good choices.

Engine and Performance

One of the quicker full-size sedans is the Maxima, and its V-6 engine makes a satisfying sound when pushed hard. The Maxima is propelled purposefully by the 3.5-liter V-6’s 300 horsepower.

However, the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) takes away from the Maxima’s goal of being a sports sedan. In our tests, a Maxima Platinum accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, outperforming competitors like the Volkswagen Arteon and Charger models with V-6 engines.

For its size, the Maxima has good handling. The suspension is well-damped and firm, perhaps even too stiff for the class. In challenging cornering maneuvers, the Maxima shows little body lean, and in our testing, the Maxima SR easily outperformed its competitors.

Fuel Economy

The Maxima’s powertrain demonstrates its prowess at fusing performance and efficiency with good fuel-economy ratings of 20 mpg city and 30 mpg highway, as well as above-average results in real-world testing.

It also serves as a good long-distance travel companion due to its extensive highway cruising range. The Maxima’s EPA rating reached 32 mpg on a 200-mile highway fuel-economy test route.

Interior

The well-designed cabin of the Maxima accommodates five passengers and is filled with soft-touch materials, straightforward controls, and a ton of high-end features. While headroom in the front seats is average, front-seat legroom is among the best in the class. There is less room in the backseat than in bigger competitors like the 300.

All models come standard with push-button start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and these features.

The Maxima has one of the smallest trunks in its class, which puts it at a disadvantage when hauling cargo; however, its larger cubbies make it easy to store everyday items, and its rear seatbacks can be folded down to accommodate larger items.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

The SR and Platinum models offer more sophisticated technology, while the basic driver-assistance features are standard. Other important safety features includes; standard automated emergency braking, forward-collision warning, and available adaptive cruise control are
