It’s 2023, and EV lineups are starting to take shape. However, while rival car brands kept dishing out smoking-hot, fully-electric luxury vehicles, Cadillac continued cooking in its assembly plant.
After a long wait, the legendary American automaker finally released its first electric vehicle, and it was worth the wait. The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq starts life with unconventional styling that dazzles inside out. It delivers an impressive driving range, awesome powertrains, a luxed-up cabin, and top-tier comfort. If you are interested in Cadillac EV lease deals, here’s more information about the automaker’s first EV SUV.
Like its rivals, the Lyriq offers two powertrain options. The standard powertrain has a single electric motor mounted on the rear axles, which produces 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with this powertrain, the Lyriq can sprint from 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds. The top-level powertrain gets an extra electric motor mounted on the front axle to create an all-wheel-drive setup that develops 500 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. These numbers are pretty impressive, and we anticipate that the dual-motor Lyriq will hit 60mph in the 4.5 to 5.0-seconds range. The Lyriq’s ride may not be very entertaining, but it does the job for shoppers seeking a comfort cruiser.
Every 2023 Cadillac Lyriq boasts a 102 kWh battery which can go up to an estimated 308 miles per charge in the base, single-motor model, and 307 miles on the all-wheel-drive model. The rear-wheel-drive Lyriq gets an EPA-rated 97 MPGe city and 82 MPGe highway.
Inside, the Lyriq is elegant, outfitted with quality materials, and shares in the Escalade’s technology. It features open-pore wood and metallic design accents, functional cubby storage spaces, and advanced noise cancellation. Standard features include a 33-inch diagonal advanced LED display, one-pedal driving, wireless phone charger, etc. You can still deck out your Lyriq with features like Nappa leather upholstery, a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system, heated second-row outboard seats, a power panoramic roof, and the outstanding Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance technology.
As expected, the Lyriq is not short of Cadillac’s most advanced safety and driver assistance features, such as;
