The Equinox has been Chevrolet’s best-selling SUV for the last two decades, and we are super excited to see what the future holds for an all-electric generation of Chevy’s compact bread and butter.
The all-electric Equinox will be released as a 2024 model, and it bears no resemblance with the gas-fed counterpart. The Equinox EV sports an attractive, futuristic styling new to Chevy’s lineup, and it gives us an insight into what to expect from future Chevrolet EV lease deals.
The 2024 Equinox EV’s powertrain offerings will start with a front-wheel-drive setup that features one electric motor mounted on the front wheels to produce 210 horsepower. The top trims will be offered with an all-wheel-drive, dual-electric motor setup that puts out an estimated 290 horsepower and a potential zero-to-60mph time of 6.0 seconds. Chevrolet says the brand’s new EV platform will ensure that the Equinox would be engaging to drive. The compact Chevrolet EV will also be able to tow 1,500 lbs.
According to Chevrolet, the entry-level Equinox EV will come with a smaller battery pack offering up to 250 miles of driving range, while other models get a larger battery that will do 300 miles on a full charge. Opting for all-wheel drive will reduce the driving range to 280 miles.
Inside, the Chevrolet Equinox looks amazing. It gets a design similar to that of the forthcoming Blazer and Silverado EVs. We can’t say if the Equinox EV will be roomier than its gas-powered cousin yet, but we hope the battery doesn’t eat into passenger and cargo rooms. Asides from an 11.0-inch diagonal driver display, the automaker hasn’t said much about standard features. However, features like panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, heated seats and steering wheel, ventilated seats, a massive 17.7-inch diagonal touchscreen, an head-up display will be available on upper trims.
Chevrolet will provide a slew of standard and optional safety and driver assistance features in the 2024 Equinox EV. This is to assist the driver in the best possible way and provide extra protection for passengers. Highlights of these features include;
